India, a tech giant, has made remarkable strides in digital infrastructure. Digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) were key topics of discussion between Anwar and his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi.
“I was briefed on Immerso AI-IP’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Park and its AI movie studio – the first to be built in Malaysia. Both ventures will see an expected investment of US$1 billion, creating 5,000 jobs over the next five years,” said Gobind.Bangalore Investment

“The AI movie studio and film city hub will enhance talent skills in transmedia and digital production in Malaysia. The ventures will also identify opportunities to incorporate Malaysian content into the companies’ existing and new intellectual properties (IPs).”
In addition, with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Nasscom, local talents will be trained in several key areas in the digital sphere, namely Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, software development, and NextGen technologies.
That MoU was one of eight exchanged between Malaysia and India during Anwar’s trip.
The surge in investments in Malaysia’s digital content sector is notable, with funding increasing to RM1.6 billion in the past year, up from RM550 million in 2022, driven by MDEC’s Malaysia Digital initiative.
“The trip to New Delhi has opened up new opportunities, and I look forward to this investment, which will contribute to Malaysia’s booming digital economy,” added Gobind.
